We went ice skating with Billy and Janae. (They were actually really good)
This is us, our cool gingerbread house, and Heather (she and her man made the gingerbread BY HAND! They are great!)
We got to go sledding with these cute nephews (Hunter, Cade (friend), and Tate).
Can I get any creepier.. I mean happier?
Here we are trekking up the trail in South Fork
Here we are at Stewart Falls
For the past week and a half I have been taking COMPLETE advantage of my short time off. I have stayed up late, slept in (way in), but best of all I got to spend time with family and friends. I feel like we were a bit more festive this year than last. We made a gingerbread house (which took much patience, and an "open mind"--Andrew and I had slightly different design styles), strutted our stuff on the ice-skating rink, found ourselves snowshoeing through the most beautiful winter landscapes, and squealing as zipped down the sledding hills. (okay... maybe I was the only one squealing!) Growing up in the great Southwest, I was never a 'winter-sporter.' When I was in Ukraine we ventured off to the Carpathian Mountains, for a ski excursion. It may be written that it was the longest, most painful day of my life! A few years later I was coaxed into giving snowboarding a try. My photos from that trip include me, in a toboggan with a broken wrist. Now that we have discovered snowshoeing, I can finally feel comfortable living in the state with the 'greatest snow on earth!' If you too are looking for that perfect winter sport, give snowshoeing a try... you might find it fits.

It looks like you had a fun-filled Christmas vacation! We are so glad we got to spend some of it with you! Thanks for all you do!
ReplyDeletewhat a fun break. I miss the Adams family in the EP :( Ben and I had the same issue with our gingerbread house. I ended up letting him "design" the house, and it looked like something that belonged in a trailer park in middle Louisiana. But he was so proud of it :) Happy Winter Days! Miss you, but so, so glad you have a fun blog now.
ReplyDeletebwahahahahaha!!! oh kris, my heart is singing with glee at the thought of you ice skating.... my little P is growing up and tackling the winter sports.. sigh!!! i LOVE the pictures (um, just so you know, I'm coveting whatever camera you used when you went sledding. WOW)
