Andrew finished up another semester. Yay! He had a very impressive report card! He enjoyed a few days off and started back up yesterday. This summer he has a hefty load on his shoulders. This block he is in Biology and Physics. He will also attend his first GRE prep course class on Saturday. He is one hard working, determined guy. Another track season came to an end as well. He had an amazing season. I think it was bitter sweet for him, knowing that he really only has one more semester on the team (Next year, he will red shirt indoor and run outdoor). Despite the shaking hands and the my heart trying to beat out of my chest, I love watching him run! :)
Last week for FHE we went up Provo Canyon with Elise and Marshall for some food, fire, and fun. Hanging out with the Snows always entertaining.
We went on our first real ride. We (Andrew, Ryan, and I) started out not knowing exactly where we would stop. We ended up at the mouth of Hobble Creek Canyon. I thought, well we can't be this close and not say hello to Alison and the kids, so we trekked it up the canyon 8 or 9 more miles. It was fun to surprise them! :) We made it back down home before dark with about 38 miles on our odometer. It was exhilarating. I look forward to the next ride.
Last night my class participated in the Hope of America. It is an amazing program that all the fifth graders in Utah county take part in. They sing and do some cute little dance moves. I have sung and practiced and dreamt about these songs for months. I was so ready for the performance, and to be done! :) They did a great job. They were so proud to see themselves featured in the Daily Herald this morning. You can see video footage from it here.
pretty cool show
pretty cute kids
wow, you guys rock. 38 miles?!? that is amazing. and i am sure exhilarating. i am glad you have a bike buddy now :) he seems to be the perfect match! happy riding.
ReplyDeletegood crap, dude... 38 miles!?! You're hardcore. And slightly mental!
ReplyDeletehave you heard of the race that starts in Logan and ends in Jackson Wy? You should train for that... it's intense and freakishly up-hill (i think a 9,000 ft elevation INCREASE.... so even when you're going "downhill" you're still going UP!!! But then again, people are liars, so don't use my name if you're gonna repeat this... I'm not going down for that one if it's a doozie)
but STILL... majorly hardcore... and I'd totally be there at the finish line waiting for you... with a 4 foot tall bottle of champagne and a large ring of roses to put around your neck and your noble "steed" (that's your bike in Kentucky Derby talk).
Katy. That race is a bit too lofty for me at this point...those people would probably push my over and run me over before I got 20 from the starting line... SO... are you coming to Utah this summer? I think you should.
