Pacifica

Andrew finished up his first of three internships! WOOHOO! He had a great experience and learned a lot.  He was lucky and had Friday off so we took advantage and went somewhere we had never been before- Pacifica- a small costal town just south of San Francisco.

When we got there we checked into our hotel and then headed out to the San Pedro Valley County Park.  It was a beautiful park nestled in the hills, full of hiking trails.  We chose a trail we thought we could all make it though. Makayla was a trooper and walked 99% of the 2 mile hike. She liked the downhill half better. ;)

After our hike we grabbed some sandwiches for dinner to enjoy at the beach.  It was beautiful! There were lots of surfers, who were fun to watch. It was a chilly evening so we didn't stay too long.

Saturday Andrew went for a bike ride- he even got to ride the infamous highway 1.

We all went down to the beach for the afternoon.  Makayla was in heaven playing in the sand and chasing waves. Jackson was content just hanging out on the blanket soaking in the salty sea air. ;)

There is just something magical about the ocean. The waves. The sounds. The sand. It is captivating and almost hypnotizing.

We drove home as the kiddos napped.  It was a perfect little getaway. I love seeing new places and spending time with our little family.
