Dear Jackson

Dear Jackson, (Jack, Jax, little man, the boy, dude, baby)
A year ago, you made your grand entrance into the world.  When I got to the hospital I was so excited and anxious to meet you- and to hold and cuddle you.  You came, and it was instant love.  You had (and still have) the cutest little face- you little, dark, round eyes were so sweet.  You were cuddly from the get go.  You loved to be swaddled up tight with your binky.  If I set you down, you were not a happy boy- so I wore you (and still wear you!) all the time!! You loved being nestled up to me in the baby bjorn.  For the first few months of your life you had some breathing issues that caused you to sound like a little pug breathing. If we were in a quiet room, people would look around to find out where that noise was coming from.  When you slept you snored so loud, sounded like an old man!  When you first stated to giggle you had a raspy little laugh it was so funny, but by the time you were about 6 months you outgrew it, although you do still snore from time to time.
I was nervous for a long time about your big sister hurting you.  But after she was used to having you around she took great care of you.  The first time we left the house without you she yelled out- we forgot Jack! She didn't want to leave you behind. She was so proud of her new brother she would go around telling everyone about "Baby Jack." So sweet.
When you would get upset in the car all I would have to do it reach back and hold your little hand and you would stop crying. You always have liked to be close. :)
I know when you are hungry because you open and close your mouth over and over. Like a little fish. You love to feed yourself and haven't been interested in baby food for a long time. You love all finger foods, fruits, veggies, noodles, and cheese. You are a good little eater, except for lately you won't stay in your hight chair and I lost the straps to buckle you in!
You love music and when it comes on you usually bend your knees to make you bounce up and down. So cute. You will also wiggle from side to side. There is one song that you know the actions to- you lift up your little pointer finger and move it up and down.
You've just started waving and it is too cute. You slowly wave your fingers up and down and wait for the other person to do the same. When I ask for a kiss you open your mouth and pucker your lips and come in for a big slobbery kiss. I love it. You are starting to throw tantrums. You will throw your head back and lay flat on the ground. It's pretty funny. ;)
When you see animals- cats, birds, chickens you start squealing in high pitched voice and you get all excited. I think you will be an animal lover. You love walking with your little buggy and you are getting really brave at standing up by yourself and attempting to take some steps. dundundun If you are going to walk/run as fast as you crawl, I am in trouble, because you can move!! You love swinning on the swing and giggle as you go up and down. You want to bad to be free and crawl all over the place. You love playing at the park, and going down slides.
You make awesome sounds and awesome faces. You have said momma and dadda- but we are still working on being consistent with them... I am looking forward to the day when you stop waking up in the night and I regain my 8 straight hours... but I do enjoy our late night cuddle-fests.
When I  hold you, you grab onto the neckline of my shirt and never let go... You are a bit of a momma's boy, but I will enjoy it now, because I am sure it won't always be that way. We are so excited to watch you grow and continue to learn new tricks.
Happy Birthday Baby!!
Love, mom

  1. K. Found your blog. Your family is adorable. I think we're going to start to get to know each other a little bit before we even meet. Which we shouldn't wait too long to do. :)
