I am back at work, I pray everyday for patience and energy... I don't want to be remembered as the grumpy pregnant teacher. I feel that with every year I loose a certain percentage of my patience--or maybe it's that I have 7 more students than last year. Or maybe I am just not getting enough sleep at night! They are cute kids, and I enjoy my job-- I just need to remind myself of that more often! :)
A friend of mine taught me how to make these bows this week, so I decided to get crafty- and begin cultivating my motherly ingenuity with some hair bows for Baby Girl Graham.
Tonight Alison and I got to go out to eat at Zupas (yumm) and then attend the Relief Society General Broadcast. It was a really uplifting evening, my favorite talk was that of President Monson- he spoke about judging others and what it really means to have charity. It made me want to change- a lot. :)
I am half way through my pottery class. I have had so much fun in class, learning a new skill. I have found that throwing is really therapeutic. I have also found that it's good to try something you're not good at: humbling. :) I will post all my pieces as soon as they are fired and glazed.
I wish I got to talk to you longer at the gym yesterday.... I have really missed working out together!! Did you renew your pass? Did you get a good deal? I LOVE the bows you made! I pray for patience everyday but at least you have an excuse to be grumpy.. my students just think I am naturally grumpy! We need to double soon!!
ReplyDeleteOh how i LOVE you!!!!!! and MISS you face off!
ReplyDeletei still don't believe that you're preggers.... you're WAYYYY too skinny minny for a little human to be inside ya (i get pregnant in my FACE first... people always just assume twins)
your bows are awesome... i seriously have tried a million times to make these cute things, but end up gluing my eyelids shut and stapling my jeans to my elbow and all sorts of crazy crap. it's not pretty.
and pottery, what?! that's the most fabulous hobby ever... i'm jealous! i bet you can throw the BIGGEST, BEST pieces EVER with those huge beastly hands of yours!! hahah! i love you, that's why i mock your hands (that's what i tell Taylor all the time... he still cries)
i miss you muy mucho.
hang in there... those kids are lucky to have you... so if you show them a day or two of grump, they'll still be grateful to have you instead of some stinky, cat-loving, introvert who gave up on life (ahem, MY fifth grade teacher)
I love all of your posts and am continually amazed at the many things you fit into your life.
ReplyDeleteI am trying hard not to be a grumpy pregnant teacher this year too! 7 more kids than last year is a LOT and I imagine that that is one of the BIGGEST reasons. Heck, you could have a great nights rest every night and still have issues with patience with that many more kids! Will you stop teaching after this year? I'm in my 4th year teaching also-so many things I'm learning we have in common now that I found your blog :-) I'm due in early April/late March and I have built up enough sick leave to take the rest of the year off and since we have to move for Cory's program anyway, this will be my last year teaching full time. If I can find a part time gig in the future, I'll do it, but I don't plan on returning to work full time unless it's absolutely necessary.
ReplyDeleteOh, those bows are adoreable!! We should make some more when I come :) I can't wait to see my beautiful sisters! -- Love the picture of you two!
