BOY... was I wrong!

Yesterday was THE DAY,  I had been waiting for this day for 20 weeks.   At 3:30 Andrew and I met at the doctor's office.  We were sure that the ultrasound would confirm our predictions of a the baby boy growing inside of me.  As I lay there I was overcome with some interesting emotions.  She found the baby, took some measurements, listened to the heartbeat, and everything looked great.  At that point I was just overcome with relief.  I was so thankful that, to this point, a healthy baby is on the way.  Then she found IT, the "tell all" body part.  She said "Ok guys, what do you think." "Boy" I said, without hesitation... Reasons for me thinking so...

1.  I felt the baby move at 16 weeks, that early, it had to be an active boy...
2.  I took ALL the "Gender Quizzes", including the Chinese one... they all predicted boy...
3.  My sister has 4 boys...
4.  I held the charm over the palm of my hand... it moved in the direction of a BOY...
5.  I haven't been sick- and 'they' say women are more sick with girls...
6.  My dad thought for sure boy...

"Nope! GIRL!" I think we were both surprise, though Andrew said he knew. :) We are so excited.  It is interesting, as we left I felt not only physically tired, but emotionally.  What an emotional experience, more so than I anticipated.  I feel a flood of emotions-mostly with one theme- Am I Ready? I sure hope so.

The ultrasound pictures prove the following:
1.  She has really long legs.
2.  She is very flexible, her knee was on her forehead.
3.  She gave us a thumbs up.
4.  She has those long Adams toes.

So, our one name of Jackson, won't be used this time around, time to start the search for a girl name! :)

  2. Ah, I am so excited for you guys, this post brings tears to my eyes. I think she's gonna be a runner like her papa. She also has a fun sense of humor like her ma. I too thought it was gonna be a boy but then I used reverse logic and decided it was a girl before I knew. Woot woot.

  3. HAAHAHAHAH!!! I totally did all those "tests" to see what i'm having... and most of them were right on for me.... but then again... it's SCIENCE soooo it's GOT to be right (looks like your ultrasound person made a mistake... don't feel too shocked when Jacksa comes out a Jackson!)

Girl or boy, she's gonna be the raddest little punk in the whole wide world!!! just as long as she knows her Aunt Katy, she'll be just fine... juuuuust fiiiiine......

  4. You were going to name your little boy after Ayrel & Ben's Great Dane??! I guessed wrong on each and every one of our kids, so I know how that feels! You will be a great mom, and you will be as prepared as anybody can be. Most of it is on-the-job training, anyhow. So very happy for you two!

  7. I don't know if you saw it on facebook, but I'm pregnant too! And while I would LOVE another little girl, especially with a 6 year gap between kids, I thought a same gender thing would help to bridge that gap, but I have all the same symptoms as you-less sick, Chinese gender chart, etc, so I've been thinking boy, but maybe they will all be wrong like you-gives me hope :-) I have a friend who has a theory that one of the genders is harder on you, but it varies from person to person which gender hits you hardest. Guess I'll find out in 7 weeks!
