Let Freedom Ring

The Fourth of July festivities began bright and early on Saturday morning at the Balloon Festival. What a magical place. To stand in among those giant, colorful globes, filled with flames was so neat.

Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of french toast with the Storeys. Yummm!

Saturday afternoon we headed downtown to enjoy the vendors and fun. (Including a giant snake from a reptile show) We also enjoyed the annual funnel cake. A 4th of July must. ;)

Saturday night we had the opportunity to attend Stadium of Fire. BEST show I have EVER seen. The sense of pride and patriotism you feel watching men parachuting out of the sky with the US flag, and listening to the National Anthem with 50,000 other proud Americans. Exhilarating. The musical entertainment was sensational. Little David Archuleta was cute- it was funny to watch the little grandmas rush the stage and steal of photo. One of my all time favorites- Brad Paisley sang his little heart out. I enjoyed every minute of it. Our seats were impeccable. The fireworks that followed were amazing. Perfect ending to the show.

The actual 4th started with the 5k Freedom Run. My awesome sister-in-law (she had a baby 6 weeks ago awesome!), Katy and I ran together. It was a lot of fun to run the rout with 3,000 others through the streets of Provo.

After the run, Andrew and I then enjoyed the parade as it came down University Ave. The weather was perfect, a little overcast, to enjoy the bands, floats, and entertainment.

The afternoon was spent on Utah Lake with the Robisons, Andrew had a blast out on that wakeboard.

The awesome holiday weekend ended with pizza at the Grahams. What a great family and fun filled holiday.

Happy Birthday America. Growing up on the border of Mexico, and having lived in 2 foreign countries, I have come to know that I am so fortunate to live here, in the blessed land.
