This little bug (poor thing, she has gone from bird to bug) has morphed in the past few weeks. She is not a scooter anymore, but has mastered the art of crawling, which has opened up a whole new world. I can no longer set her on a blanket and expect her to be there when I return. No, these days I set her down, and follow the path of messes she makes on her journey.
dun!
little jail bird
It is so fun to watch her explore. Pick things up, pass them from one hand to another, ever so methodically examine the object, and of course, stick it in her mouth. :)
She is full of sounds. Her favorites: to vibrate the back of her tongue and to purse her little lips together and blow. Sometimes she even squeaks out a little whistle. She is so curious, about everything, but especially sounds. If she hears something she must find out what it is... no matter what she needs to crawl over or how she needs to strain her little neck so she can check it out.
(dunno what happened to this picture... but you get the idea)
Her gummy smile is so contagious, she can be a little flirt. When she is super excited to see you she doesn't know what to do with herself. She will squeal and ram her face into something (you, your shoulder, the floor...) and stick her bum in the air. It reminds me of what a puppy would do when they get excited... without the tail. :)
She is a joy. Her sweet little spirit is softening mine everyday. I can feel it, and I am grateful for it.
Here she is in action.
