Growing Up

I must record the happenings of Miss Makayla. Something happened after she turned one. She turned into a little person! She is changing so much, understanding so much, and expressing herself in a whole new way. She has learned some sign language. She signs to us when she wants food- and then walks to the kitchen. It is so nice to at least know when she is hungry! When she wants more of something, she does the sign for more. Oh if only she could sign every word! It is so funny to take her grocery shopping because she will point to things and do the sign for more over and over. :) She knows what she wants! :) She "says" several words like "hot" "thank you" "apple" "banana" "fish" and "nose" so I know she is saying these words, but a stranger may not! :) "coo-coo" is train- we are working on the "ch" ;) She is climbing on everything, and has no fear, which makes me on constant watch. She hates to have things on her little feet (including shoes or socks) and she will sit down and pick the tiniest piece of sand of her foot. She even separates her little toes and picks out the toe jam. She pays close attention to everything, it is nearly impossible to hide a desired item from her! :) She loves animals especially birds, ducks, and dogs. If I tell her to find her quack-quack she will run away and come back with her rubber duck. We have lots of long conversations, I know she understands so much more than she conveys.
