Spring Break

This Spring Break was like a sandwich, on really good bread but with rotten cheese in the middle. Let me explain...It started out and ended perfectly, but the middle was not so great.
Friday Night we went to see the Stockton Thunder show their stuff on the ice. It was fun to do something new together and be with our fellow Stocktonians. We both decided that ice hockey would be a very difficult sport to play. Makalya was enthralled with the loud music, announcer, and the disco ball. She sat wide eyed the whole time. (I made a comment to Andrew about how we wished she acted like this at church!) ;) We stayed long enough to see a few fights, and someone get thrown into the penalty box. Hockey drama.
We spent the rest of the weekend TOGETHER! So fun. Even if we were just running errands or doing normal 'boring' stuff, it was so nice to have Andrew around.
Monday we ventured up to Sacramento to explore Old Town Sacramento. Loved it. We had so much fun browsing all the fun stores, knickknacks galore, toy stores, random hippie stores, jewelry stores, kitchen stores, christmas stores, candy shops. There was a Wells Fargo museum (shout out to paps), a train museum, and and old school house museum that we visited. We had a lovely time. Afterwards we hit up Ikea for some new toilet bowl brushes. (Random? Yes, but they are my favorite, and they are only 99 cents!)

At the old school house, being taking turns being the stern school teacher :)

Tuesday we did some more hanging out together, even visited some thrift stores. Tuesday night I got to spent some time with friends for dinner and The Hunger Games. When I got home little Makayla had a fever and thus began the long sleepless nights and one cranky girl!
Skip Skip Skip (this is the rotten cheese part)

Saturday was day one of General Conference- I did not leave my house (much left get out of my PJs) for 2 days- and it was perfect. Snuggled up on the couch with my lethargic little one enjoying hour after hour of inspiration. I went into conference with some questions and needs- and they were very obviously answered and met. Funny how that happens. Sunday was delightful. Conference, our new conference french toast tradition, and a long evening walk. Just the three of us. Back to the french toast, I thought to go get my camera and take a picture, but I literally did not want to leave my plate. I was afraid it would get cold or that Andrew would sneak a bit of mine. I was enjoying it way too much. But this is an internet picture of the same thing. I sliced my strawberries thinner- so mine looked even better! ;)

I am looking forward to this new month. Andrew has 3 more weeks left of this semester, and then another little break. Hopefully that one has not rotten parts! He is doing so well in school, and really tries his hardest. We are happy and content to be here together, in our little corner of the universe.
