Katy Aaron

When I was 18 I met a little lady named Katy. She was first my next door neighbor, but soon thereafter, she became my roommate for several of my semesters of college. We had some fun, fun times...but alas we graduated, went our separate ways, and grew up...(a little).
Last weekend Katy joined my in California for a weekend getaway (which her awesome husband totally surprised her with).  Although we only had roughly 70 hours together- we made the most of it, and more crazy memories were made. :)

I picked Katy up in Oakland and we headed straight for Fisherman's Wharf. We were hungry- luckily they saved us a spot right in front of Boudins. We both ate some incredible sandwiches...we were way too excited to see each other and to eat food, we forgot to take a picture. But here we are afterwards. Awesome cell phone pics.. ;(

Alcatraz

Katy really wanted to make it look like Alcatraz was running into my belly.

Katy is a lefty... and proud of it- yo

After spending time on the Wharf we headed back to Oakland and walked around the temple grounds. (and used the bathroom at the visitor's center... twice) REALLY high quality pic.

Saturday morning we ate some yummy strawberry stuffed french toast, before we headed up to Sacramento.

 Serious School Master Katy

Saturday night Katy and I snuck away to indulge in some serious sundaes at the Ghirardelli outlet factory.

Lucky us!

Katy couldn't believe just how good it was-

Sunday we went to church, relaxed, and visited some Stockton attractions. The yacht from the James Bond Casino Royal- is docked here in Stockton. We went down to the marina and walked up and down looking for it, but we finally gave up.  Come to find out, the yacht has been in Alaska for  month. Darn.  Guess Katy will have to come back, just to see it. ;)

We also took Katy to UOP. It really is a beautiful campus- and several films have been filed on campus, including Indian Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls, Dead Man on Campus, Flubber, Inventing of the Abbotts, and several others...

Monday morning the fun came to an end. Katy was off back to her kids and husband in Idaho...It was SO much fun to pretend to by 18 again and laugh and talk about nonsense- just like the old days. :)
Come again Katy!!

  1. Awww! I bet you guys had so much fun! I knew I liked Katy, it must have something to do with being left handed too. And I hope my husband surprises me with a trip to visit you too- if Katy was there it might be dangerous :) You look great mama!
