Makayla started swimming lessons. She loved every minute of it. She is a little fish now. She throws on those floaties and the pool is her playground. She will dunk her face under and jump in, and insists on doing everything herself.
We went to the library's summer reading program kickoff and Makayla got the coolest face paint ever! She woke up the next morning touching her face- saying "butterfly" all dreamy-like :)
Many an hour spent at the park- love these two.
But these days- probably more hours are spent that the pool. The pool is open Tuesday-Sunday. We are there Tuesday-Saturday usually from 3:30-5:00....or 6... :) Makayla has made many friends- one in particular, Jamarie, (pictured above) is Makayla's favorite. :)
Jackson LOVES the water. He snuggles right up to me, rests his head on my chest and enjoys bouncing around in the pool. Several times he has fallen asleep. He is also happy hanging out on the blanket poolside with his GF, Karina. ;)
Lots of play-dates...
One to the Children's Museum..
Anton's pool
The park- (Jackson's face kills me in this picture...save me from all these girls!!)
The theater here does $1 summer kid movies- this was Makayla's first time to the theater (since she was a baby and we would cart her around with us...)The movie was Alvin and the Chipmunks- Chipwrecked. She lost interest about 50 minutes into it, but the next week was Rio. (her fave) and we stayed for the whole thing! She gets so excited when the lights turn off. So cute. Mr. Jackson is pretty much awesome and is content hanging out on my lap and enjoying the movie too.
We have a Zoo pass to Micke Grove- so we have taken several trips there to see the birds and monkeys. It is a small zoo, perfect size for the kids. Makayla can run around and not get lost. This trip Makayla pushed Jackson the entire time. It was a nice break for me. :)
We discovered a little amusement park in Micke Grove as well. We all rode the train together.
I am so bummed I didn't take more pcitures on the 4th!! We had a wonderful time with friends- the Cochrans, McKees, and Brattons. Ben works wonders on the grill and had worked hard all day on tritip and ribs. The kids had fun running around the yard and swimming together.

As we pulled in the driveway a nearby church set off some great fireworks. Makayla and I watched together. She is still talking about them.

This past weekend we took a little drive up to Sac to visit Fairytale Land- super cute.
We happened to go on "International Day" and every 30 minutes there were different dance performers from all over the world. Several times Makayla went up on stage to join in the fun. Here she is learning a Japanese dance. She also went up for a Hawaiian hula and some tribal African dances/drumming. SO cool.
I know an old lady who lives in a shoe...
Captain Hook's ship
The Giant's foot from Jack and the Beanstalk
Obviously, we have been playing way too hard...
I love summer.
So many fun things!! I'm glad you're having a great summer!
ReplyDeletesummer is so fun, and you guys are doing it right. Mykala's hair is so long and thick {like someone else I know...}, I love all her hair styles. Mr Jackson is a doll, I just want to squeeze his cute little cheeks. I wish we could spend our summer hours with our babies together! Move to Tucson!!!!!
